This track kind of destroyed me. I went down the path of wanting to make the kind of synthwave I was listening to at the time and it just didn’t work out. I was trying to make what I thought would get people to listen to my music, not what I wanted to make.
While I’m not completely unhappy with the result and some people seem to enjoy the song, to me it stands as a reminder that I can’t force any specific music out of me. It has to come naturally, from a place that’s true.
